Introdução à Tipografia Tradicional 3 Introduction to Letterpress 3

March 14th, 2014 Workshops

A one day workshop for students focusing on the basics of letterpress. The project was to typeset some terms relating to composition. The students got to know how to set type in their composing sticks, compose in the galley, lock up at the stone and to print on the proofing press. We’re planning to use the final pages to make a small book of typographic terms.

Cleaning the type led to an unexpected print onto the rag.

Some of the students’ intricate designs were even challenging for Rui, but the results were more than worth it.
